UCMed Dietary Department Concludes Nutrition Month Celebration
The University of Cebu Medical Center’s Dietary Department wraps up its Nutrition Month Celebration with a series of engaging exhibit.
The event was held in the UCMed Lobby on July 17, 2024, and aimed to educate staff, patients, and the community about the importance of nutrition, centered on this year’s theme, “Sa PPAN sama-sama sa Nutrition Sapat Para sa Lahat.”
UCMed’s Hospital Administrator, Mr. Raymond L. Priagula, also graced the event with inspiring message during his opening remarks.
The event kicked off with a Zumba session in partnership with Otsuka-Solar Philippines.
The farmer’s market was a standout highlight, bringing together local vendors that offered fresh and organic produce for the first time in UCMed.
Representatives from Lamac Multipurpose Cooperative and Virginia Farms showcased a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, offering a special discounted price to those who purchased their produce.
Other participating companies such as Unilab-Westmont; Fresenius Kabi; Nestle Health Science provided dry and wet sampling, while PADE-PADCENS assisted for the Dietary Instructions and Nutrition Counselling.
As a rundown for Dietary’s celebration, last July 1, 2024, was their opening ceremony wherein UCMed also participated in the Regional Nutrition Launch held at SM Seaside. They also had a symposium last July 5, 2024m which was anchored to this year’s theme.
The Dietary Department’s efforts during Nutrition Month have not only raised awareness about the importance of nutrition but have also fostered a sense of community and shared responsibility for health.
